Academic Partnership
Urban Advantage is a citywide program that encourages student engagement in science through free trips to the top 9 science museums in the city and support teachers with materials for their hands-on component for our students. We utilize all resources and invite parents to our Science Fair and Family Science Days sponsored by Urban Advantage to boost family engagement and the overall science capital of our students.
Cares4You
A National Cancer Institute-funded research study led by scientists from Weill Cornell Medicine and Columbia University that partners with New York City public middle schools to deliver a standards-aligned, culturally responsive cancer prevention curriculum within existing science classes. The curriculum was developed collaboratively with NYC Department of Education middle school teachers and has now been peer reviewed and published in the Journal of Cancer Education. The study is now in its implementation phase and seeks to recruit five additional schools. By participating, schools help advance research focused on reducing health disparities while gaining access to high-quality curriculum materials, professional development, and school-level support.
National Cares Mentoring Movement: The Rising
Elevating Education, Expectations and Self-Esteem
Our signature research-based program is a restorative in-school effort dedicated to ensuring children in crisis are provided with consistent, trauma-healing, culturally anchored programming. In safe spaces, our leaders help young people unearth their traumas and remove them as barriers to hope, mental well-being, critical thinking, and self-confidence. In our Wellness Mentoring Circles, students learn to trust, dream, and make positive choices that move them toward high school graduation, higher education, workforce readiness, and leadership.
A-Stem Labs Brooklyn Advisory Group
Our civics program transforms traditional learning into an interactive, real-world experience where students don’t just learn about government—they become it. Through a dynamic student government model, roles shift from President and Vice President to Mayor, City Council, and community leaders, giving students a deeper understanding of local governance. Participants will form committees, draft and debate legislation, and engage in community service projects that connect classroom lessons to real-life impact. This hands-on approach teaches leadership, collaboration, and the power of civic engagement in shaping their schools and communities.
The BKLYN Combine
A 501(c)(3) not-for-profit community organization that works with schools, community organizations, and dedicated city officials to help provide critical education, leadership, and social support programs to youth and young adults in low-income and underserved communities.
Nutrition Collaborative Program
Bridges the gap between kitchen staff, educators, and families to increase student participation in healthy school meals.
Broadway Junior
Broadway Jr. is a program from Music Theatre International (MTI) that adapts popular Broadway musicals into shortened, age-appropriate versions for elementary and middle school students. Titles include Broadway Jr. versions of shows like The Lion King, Frozen, Aladdin, Willy Wonka, and Shrek. The program gives students hands-on experience in singing, acting, and stage production while building confidence, teamwork, and public speaking skills.
Amplify Desmos Math
Amplify Desmos Math combines and connects conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and application. Lessons are designed with the Proficiency Progression, a model that provides teachers with clear instructional moves to build from students’ prior knowledge to grade-level learning.
Queen’s Pawn
Queens Pawn is the school's chess club, where students learn strategy, critical thinking, and sportsmanship through the game of chess. Members progress from foundational rules and openings to more advanced tactics, with opportunities to compete in tournaments against other schools. Beyond the game itself, Queens Pawn builds patience, focus, and problem-solving skills — turning every match into a lesson in thinking several moves ahead.

We are a creative agency that believes that learning starts when you ask the right questions. Our goal is to show students how their respective skills and abilities can translate into successful careers in the digital media space. Through hands-on, socially relevant learning experiences, we’re able to prepare your students for a career in the digital world.
Creativity and innovation lead to change. We show students how to be creative and strategic in their approach to solving problems and creating social change with the use of digital media. Through experiential learning, they’re able to apply their skills to real-life situations.
Our courses are designed by a team of multidisciplinary creative and strategy professionals who work in the digital media industry. We use relevant social, digital, and cultural elements in our courses to bridge the gap between students' world and their classroom, showing them how these skills can be applied to their everyday life.
Stay Driven Mentoring Program
Our mission is to keep individuals motivated even when experiencing their worst hardships. We target black/brown youth and young adults ages 12-18. We assist with many issues they face in our urban communities. Issues such as behavioral, parental/family guidance, substance abuse, lack of consistent food, clothing, hygiene, lack of sleep, self care and motivation.
Middle School Athletic League (MSAL)
The Middle School Athletic League is an interscholastic sports program that gives middle school students the opportunity to compete in organized team sports against other schools. Leagues usually run seasonal sports such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, track and field, flag football, and baseball/softball. Beyond athletic skill-building, MSAL programs emphasize sportsmanship, teamwork, physical fitness, and school pride.
DAD Gang
DAD Academy is an interactive, after school based program designed to empower fathers to become more engaged, skilled, and confident parents. Through a series of workshops, bonding activities, and peer support, dads will gain practical tools to strengthen their relationships with their children, support academic success, and foster emotional and social growth.
Dream Squad
Dream Squads are teams of three or more educators who work together to support multilingual and immigrant students and families. Their goal is to create welcoming, inclusive schools that value students’ well-being and future goals. Dream Squads make sure school practices, policies, and programs meet the needs of multilingual, immigrant, and undocumented students and their families.
WISE Academy
The W.I.S.E. (Whitman Inspires Success & Excellence) Academy After-School Program provides Walt Whitman Middle School students with a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where they can continue learning, build meaningful relationships, and discover new interests beyond the school day.
The Yard
Rising Ground’s The Yard, East Flatbush Family Enrichment Center (FEC), is a place where families and children can connect with their community, volunteer, join events and activities, and access resources and support that help them succeed.
Their work goes beyond their center. Through a partnership with our school, they bring many of their programs and services directly into our building, making it easier for families to participate and receive support.
East Flatbush Community Partnership
East Flatbush Community Partnership, an initiative of the NYC Administration for Children's Services (ACS) and JCCA, works to connect local families with resources and support that promote child and family well-being. Through a strong partnership with our school, the organization brings programs, services, and opportunities directly to our students and families, helping them build skills, overcome challenges, strengthen community connections, and access the support they need to thrive.
Brooklyn Basketball
Brooklyn Basketball is a valued partner that helps enrich the experience of our students both in and out of the classroom. Through its partnership with New York City Public Schools, the organization provides a free basketball program during physical education classes, giving students of all genders, backgrounds, and skill levels the opportunity to learn and participate.
In addition, Brooklyn Basketball welcomes our students to its training facility for field trips focused on basketball fundamentals, teamwork, and leadership. This partnership has a positive impact on our school by promoting healthy lifestyles, building confidence, and helping students develop important social and teamwork skills.
Central X Southeast Brooklyn CDC and NineDot Energy
Through an ongoing partnership with Central X Southeast Brooklyn CDC and NineDot Energy, our students gain hands-on experience with renewable energy technologies. Using educational kits provided by these organizations, students build miniature solar homes, wind turbines, and battery-powered projects while learning about clean energy, sustainability, and environmental responsibility.
This partnership supports our school's commitment to STEM and environmental education by giving students engaging opportunities to explore science, technology, and innovation. We are grateful for the continued support of Central X Southeast Brooklyn CDC and NineDot Energy and look forward to expanding this partnership to inspire future generations and promote a cleaner, more sustainable future.
The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH)
The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH) is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting hunger and improving the health and well-being of New Yorkers. Through access to nutritious food and essential resources, TCAH helps families build healthier, more stable, and self-sufficient lives.
As a valued partner of our school, The Campaign Against Hunger provides fresh fruits and vegetables each month to stock our school food pantry. This partnership helps ensure that our students and families have access to healthy food and the support they need to thrive.
Brooklyn Book Bodega
Brooklyn Book Bodega is a valued partner that promotes literacy, builds community, and fosters a love of reading by increasing access to free books and educational programs. Through this partnership, Brooklyn Book Bodega has donated books to our school library, classroom libraries, and directly to students to build their home libraries. Their ongoing support helps ensure that our students have access to high-quality reading materials both at school and at home, encouraging a lifelong passion for learning and reading.
Book Fairies
Book Fairies is a nonprofit organization that provides books to underserved communities in New York City, Long Island, and around the world, helping children gain access to resources that support learning and growth.
As a valued partner, Book Fairies has donated books to help stock our school library and has provided multiple class sets of books for classroom instruction. This ongoing partnership will continue to support our students as we expand library services and increase access to high-quality reading materials throughout the school year.
GrowNYC
GrowNYC is a valued partner that helped launch our school garden and continues to support its growth and success. Through workshops, curriculum resources, giveaways, and technical assistance, GrowNYC has helped us create and maintain a garden that meets the needs of our students and school community.
The organization supports teachers and staff integrating gardening into learning across grade levels and has helped us secure resources and build partnerships to ensure the garden's long-term sustainability. GrowNYC also assisted in developing a plan for garden stewardship that engages students, staff, and families, creating meaningful opportunities for hands-on learning, teamwork, and environmental awareness.
The NYC Public Schools Office of Energy & Sustainability
The NYCPS Office of Energy & Sustainability is a valued and ongoing partner that helps our school create a healthier, greener learning environment. Their support has strengthened our school garden, expanded cafeteria sustainability efforts, and provided resources for environmental education.
Through NYCPS Climate Action Days, students explore topics such as climate change, energy conservation, waste reduction, and environmental stewardship. This partnership gives students meaningful, hands-on learning experiences while promoting environmental awareness and helping build a culture of sustainability throughout our school community.
